Today I was teaching the nursery class (Emma and Nelson get to tag along, even though you're really too old for that class). We were sitting in the circle at the beginning of class when Emma informs me, "there are three girls, and two boys." Instantly she continued, "that makes five!" I was SO shocked that at three years old she would be able to think so complex all on her own!
You are such a bright one little bird! I love you. I love both of you inside and out!

Nelson Is 5 Today!
Yesterday we had a slip and slide party with your friends.
Today you ran errands with mommy, we went shopping with some of your birthday money, met up with Papi for lunch, window shopping at the pet store, and to get a chocolate chip cookie with a mango smoothie at Panera.
It was a joy to spend the day with you. As we walked down the side walk to the pet store I told you that I enjoyed the day with you and you told me it was a date! Of course that madey day even better! At Panera you mentioned the fact that we needed to plan our next date! To top everything off you wanted to buy and wear a "knight in shining armor" costume for the last half of the day! It was such a special day!
Summer Road-trip 2014
We headed to Arkansas for a family reunion in Mt Ida, we stoped for two nights in South Carolina, one night in Jacksonville, Arkansas and had breakfast and road 4-wheelers with Gram, Papa, EK, and Bepa. After several days on the road we, we stopped for lunch in Hot Springs and finally arrived to Mt Ida. Nelson was really excited to meet his cousins. We enjoyed spending time with Nanny and Pawpaw in the mornings before everyone else woke up, playing in the lake, playing with baby Caden, and swimming in the pool. After the Gann reunion we headed back to Little Rock for a few days with the Sorrells side of the family. Y'all love playing in Gram and Papa's backyard. Papi preached at Papas church Sunday night. Bepa set up a water splash pad in the yard for you to play. Our next destination was Florida District Campmeetig in Ocala. On the way to Ocala we stoped in Pensacola for the night, went to the beach, and downtown for breakfast. Finally we have made it home after almost 2 weeks of traveling.
School Days
Now that Nelson's in Kindergarten mommy and Emma have been doing school at home some mornings! You both always surprise me with the things you know! Today Emma just wrote the #9 and the #2 and identified them all on her own! I wanted to save a few pictures from our first "month" of kindergarten and
Nelson's "all about me form"
3 sight words - I, can, like
"He went home and found an acorn" - one of your favorite stories is "Adam and the Ant" it ends very similar. Look at that spelling after just 4 weeks of kindergarten! So proud of you!

Potty Talk
You both get a little carried away talking about "poopoo" and "peepee". So I've been explaining that we shouldn't talk about that or our body parts outside of the bathroom, or when it's just you and me in your room. So the other day Emma was reminding me of something she shouldn't say when the guys were around - only when it was just the two of us. Tonight at dinner Nelson decided he wanted to eat as much broccoli as he could. He was eatting a lot of broccoli and I began telling them that broccoli has ALOT of vitamins and is good for the stomach. As be continued eatting I added, "and it helps you go poopoo". They thought it was HILaRIOUs that O said "poopoo" at the table! Emma informed me that was just for the bathroom! Then she continued with her usual - every kind of poopoo she can think of game. It goes something like this, "broccoli poopoo, ewwww" (out of control laughter), "bread poopoo" (out of control giggles), and so on. It was pretty funny, and you didn't seek to care that I had said I was sorry, but loved the opportunity to get all of your "poopoo jokes" and "potty laughs" out!
