Somebody had a Birthday!!

Little Miss Audrey turned the big T-W-O! So hard to believe. She is a joy! We had a fun little back yard grilling party with her favorite mouse!

For some reason I am my able to post pictures sprightly now. I hope I will be able to in the future. It was such a fun little afternoon!

Good Nights.

Nelson and I were piled up in his bunkbed searching through Pinterest. He is on a mission to build robots out of broken toys and other recycled opjects for this years art show! YAA host a lovely children's art show each year and this will be Nelson's first year to enter. After finishing up and saying our good nights I told him I was thankful that he was my son. He imminently said, "you mean your friend". I was a little stunned. I felt it such an honor for him to feel that way considering in the past he's told me "I like your strict ways"!

At dinner the kids had endless questions about digestion. So we watched a few videos on YouTube, and at some point we saw something about dissecting a frog. 😫 After we were all done Emma said "mommy, did you ever digest anything when you were in college" .... I thought it was a little odd and said "yea, every day at lunch" she was really freaked out! I expalined, "breakfast, lunch, dinner .... I digested everything I ate!" She was like "WHAT!?" It took me a while to realize that she was meaning "dissected" instead of "digested"!!!!!! 😜

These days just keep getting better! Loving the mom life.

Growing up sweetly.

Sunday at lunch Nelson whispered to Papi and asked Papi to tell me. He said, "this is a little awkward and embarrassing, but I'm starting to get some hairs on my chin." Nelson, you were so adorable hiding behind me and blushing! We all had a lot of hugs. You're just seven and absolutely adorable. I'm so thankful I get to watch you growing up sweetly.

A Little Miss Audrey update....

At 5 months old you're very alert. You grab my face and pull it towards yours as you slobber all over my cheeks giving me "kisses". Emma and Nelson love all over you and it's such a joy to watch! I'm amazed at the love you all have for each other! Emma has helped me so much while Nelson was at school and she loved for you to sit in your swing as she played in the bedroom. When I needed to nurse you Emma liked to have tea parties with us!

You rolls over quite well, scoot alittle, and make these adorable "dove sounds" when you're calling for attention. (You've  been doing this for quite some times now). You don't cry too much, but this could be because there are so many of us to give you attention! She's very playful and love to laugh. Nelson likes to take off your socks and shake your legs around and you really get a kick out of it. The first thing you've eaten other than nursing is Olive oil. This last week you've also started drinking around 2oz of goats milk. Dr Colón recommended that for you to gain a little more weight. You're just very pleasant and enjoy chewing/sucking on your toes right now, as well as, you two fingers or a thumb. When Papi comes home from work he holds you all through dinner. You have a little toy doll we call Betty. Papi and the kids brought her to you when you were still at the hospital. You like to play with her, a rattle, and a stuffed owl that Gram and Papa sent you. You are very loved by all of us.

Out of the overflow ...

Nelson's singing to Audrey... He said "there once was a time that the Holy Ghost came .... The man who was chained was free" it was kind of a bluegrass feel, "there once was a time when there was a girl named Emma who went to jail, she went to prison." He leaned over and whispered to Emma "I'm talking about a different Emma" and then continued singing "she went to the authorities. She didn't know about God, but she's 24 and now shes with the Lord...espíritu, espíritu, espíritu," And then went into babbling!

Sometimes it's really hard to keep a straight face around here!

Moving on ...

Big boy Nelson finished kindergarten!! We are so happy for you!!
On the last day of school we had a backyard party and celebrated with some of your friends from Ms Ojedas class!
Here comes 1st Grade!!

The Way of Wisdom

Proverbs 4:4-9, 12-15, 18

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

When though goest, they steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

But the path of the just is as a shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
